Isla Fisher has revealed a recent dating experience ended in blunt fashion after a man’s chase for his runaway dog killed her attraction.
The “Wedding Crashers” star, 50, shared the story Monday on the Overheard Happy Hour TikTok account, describing how a suitor’s cartoon-like sprint after his pet triggered an irreversible case of the “ick.” Fisher explained that she had genuinely liked the man before the incident unfolded.
“I liked somebody. His dog ran away and he chased his dog,” she recalled on the TikTok show.
“But instead of chasing upright, he ran low with his hands outstretched — like a cartoon.”
The physical comedy of the moment stacked up fast. Fisher said the cringe factor kept building as the pursuit continued, eventually wiping out any romantic or sexual interest she had felt.
“By the time he caught the dog, he had lost the p–y,” she revealed on the platform.
The disclosure arrives as Fisher continues adjusting to life following her split from Sacha Baron Cohen, 54. The outlet exclusively reported in April 2023 that the pair had separated after 14 years of marriage, and the divorce was finalized the following June. The former couple first met in 2001 and wed in 2010, sharing three children: daughters Olive, 18, and Elula, 16, plus son Montgomery, 11.
In their joint announcement of the separation, Fisher and the “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” star struck a measured tone. “We are proud of all we’ve achieved together and, continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and committed to co-parenting our wonderful children,” they said in the statement. “We ask for the media to continue to respect our children’s privacy.”
The transition to single life has not been seamless. Last November, Fisher opened up to Elle Decoration about the emotional weight of establishing her own household after both the divorce and the 2023 death of her father.
“When it all arrived, I did have a bit of a cry because this was my first time as a single woman, being in a home of my own,” she told the publication.
She has since characterized the rebuilding process as difficult but worthwhile. “Trying to create a new life from a grassroots level, at least emotionally, has been challenging, but deeply rewarding,” she added in the same interview. “I’m enjoying this new version of my life.”
The “Now You See Me” actress has kept a relatively low public profile through the transition, making her candid TikTok appearance a notable window into how she is navigating the dating landscape. Her film credits span the “Confessions of a Shopaholic” adaptation and voice work in “Scooby-Doo,” while Cohen continues his satirical screen work.
