Katie Price has reportedly ended her eight-month marriage to Lee Andrews by WhatsApp after discovering his supposed crypto fortune was virtually empty.
The reality star, 48, sent the message after a financial expert accessed the businessman’s wallet on Monday and found it contained just $3 — roughly £2.22 — rather than the $50 million (£37 million) he had allegedly promised her, according to a source who spoke.
“It was, of course, an accumulation of many things but the final straw came after Lee had told Katie he had $50 million (£37 million) in a crypto wallet, and promised her some of the funds,” the source claimed. “He gave her the ‘recovery phrase’ — the passkey — to get into his account, and on Monday she had a financial expert access the wallet — and, to her shock, discovered it contained just $3, or £2.22.”
The same source said the marriage is finished and that Price “will never go to Dubai to see Lee again.” The pair had wed just 48 hours after a sudden engagement in January, a whirlwind ceremony that raised eyebrows when none of her five children attended and none had ever met Andrews in person.
According to the source, Price’s WhatsApp message to her husband read: “I have been played and you are not who you say you are. Why have you lied to me?”
The mum-of-five has now reportedly contacted a London divorce lawyer. “Naturally Katie is worried Lee might try to get her money, or take half her earnings over the next 12 months,” the source added. “She does not want to be his next con, and is hoping they can split amicably. It seems unlikely they will stay in touch.”
Price, the source continued, has gathered evidence for a potential documentary project. “She has all the receipts — the screenshots, voice notes and the AI fakery. It’s little secret that she wants to make a documentary, Tinder Swindler-style, so that is now the plan.”
Andrews, 43, originally from Nottinghamshire, had claimed to be a multi-millionaire CEO of Aura Group Future Urban Travel 2027 and an “investor in SpaceX Hybrid Fitness,” and had lived in Dubai for over 21 years. Social media photos appearing to show him with Elon Musk and Kim Kardashian were later identified as AI-generated.
The relationship’s collapse follows months of turbulence. In May 2026, Andrews disappeared for two weeks, prompting an international missing person hunt and frantic social media appeals from Price. His father eventually revealed Andrews had been arrested by UAE officials. Andrews initially claimed to Price he was pulled from his car at gunpoint and detained for “espionage” by the National Guard, but officials indicated he was held over unpaid debts and fraud. He was located alive in Dubai’s Al Awir Central Prison.
After his release, Andrews admitted his detention stemmed from a private civil matter rather than espionage. He was imprisoned again weeks later, also believed connected to fraud allegations, unpaid debts and civil disputes. During this second detention, Price made clear in interviews she would not pay his bail or financial liabilities, and was spotted performing at Manchester Pride without her wedding ring.
Price had previously defended the relationship’s rapid pace in an interview, explaining they connected by checking each other’s social media profiles before meeting in person in Dubai within days. “All this without even meeting, we let fate, but you could [say] destiny decide,” she said. The couple got matching tattoos and bought rings before their small Dubai wedding.
The union had been dogged by skepticism from the start, with many fans treating the engagement as a publicity stunt. Price briefly fueled pregnancy speculation by taking aim at Andrews’s ex and saying she was pregnant, before clarifying on social media: “No, I’m not pregnant – but one day I will be. Hopefully that clears all the speculation up. Just because we say we’ll have kids, [it’s because] one day I will.”
