Kendall Jenner has directly denied long-running speculation that she and Cara Delevingne were ever romantically involved.
The 29-year-old model addressed the persistent dating rumors in a trailer for the upcoming eighth season of The Kardashians, which drops on Disney+ and Hulu next month. The clip features Delevingne, 32, making a cameo appearance alongside Jenner, prompting producers to press the reality star on the nature of their friendship.
“There’s definitely a rumor that Cara and I, like, date, which is not true,” Jenner said in the on-camera interview.
The denial marks the second time this year that Jenner has felt compelled to clarify her sexual orientation in a public forum. Back in January, she appeared on Owen Thiele’s In Your Dreams podcast to push back against what she described as “the whole side of the Internet” convinced she is a lesbian.
“All’s to say, as of today, I am not [gay],” she stated during that episode, adding: “I don’t think I will be, but I’m not closing doors to experiences in life.”
The new trailer adds a provocative wrinkle to Jenner’s latest clarification. After firmly shutting down the dating speculation, she pivoted to a more playful tone while speaking with Delevingne backstage at a fashion show.
“By the way, I have nothing against having sex with Cara,” Jenner said in the clip. “Never say never, right?” she then added to Delevingne, who erupted in laughter.
Delevingne, who is preparing to release her debut music album titled Not Normal, publicly came out as a lesbian earlier this year after previously identifying as bisexual and pansexual. The British model and actress has been notably open about her sexual identity throughout her career, contrasting with Jenner’s more private approach to her personal life.
Jenner is currently reported to be dating actor Jacob Elordi, known for his roles in Euphoria and the upcoming Frankenstein film. The romance rumors with Delevingne have dogged the pair for years despite both women’s repeated insistence that they are simply close friends.
The eighth season of The Kardashians promises additional relationship developments across the famous family. Khloé Kardashian hints in the trailer that she may be ready to date again following her drawn-out split from Tristan Thompson. Both Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner also tease potential new romances, while the clan grapples with Kourtney Kardashian’s decreased presence since her marriage to blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.
“We don’t see her that often,” Kendall noted in the trailer regarding her eldest sister. Kourtney, for her part, stated that her children are her “biggest priority right now.”
The new season premieres on Disney+ and Hulu on October 8.
