Bronwyn Newport’s US Open date has been unmasked as a married Manhattan restaurateur.
Justin Sievers, 42, co-owns Café Mulberry, a French bistro in downtown Manhattan where Newport, 41, has dined before. The pair were photographed kissing and hugging at the tennis tournament over the weekend, though Sievers remains legally wed to Maria Linn Ekenberger, also 42, his wife of roughly ten years.
Multiple sources close to the couple disputed whether any real separation had occurred. One source maintained that Sievers and Ekenberger were “still a couple” with a “clear” understanding they would “not date other people” during their time apart, adding that the two had merely decided to take a few days away from each other to “get back on track” after a “challenging time.” A second source described Sievers as someone who “works 24/7,” which has strained the marriage, but noted that he and Ekenberger have “always had a lot of love” for each other.
Ekenberger, who shares a young child with Sievers, was reportedly “in shock and disbelief” upon seeing the photos and has since separated from him. A third source added that she is “really upset by all of this.”
A fourth source offered a sharply different account, insisting the separation was already “fresh” and that Sievers had “moved out” before the US Open. This source claimed Ekenberger was “well aware” of their situation and “in agreement” about moving on romantically.
Social media clues have only deepened the confusion. Ekenberger was wearing her wedding ring in Instagram images posted in late July, and the couple remained mutual followers at the time of publication. Sievers’s last post featuring Ekenberger dated to December 2025. Since the story broke, he has removed his profile picture and made his account private.
Newport herself addressed the flurry of attention during Wednesday’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” though she stopped short of naming Sievers.
“I’m having a hot girl summer. You guys saw me on a date! I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. Look at me!” she gushed to Cohen.
She also used the appearance to shut down lingering speculation about model Brandon Good, whom she had dated for several months following her separation from estranged husband Todd Bradley last year.
“That was six boyfriends ago, baby doll,” she cheekily divulged.
The fourth source characterized Newport’s connection with Sievers as “new and very casual,” noting both are “focused on their work and their kids.” Newport is mother to 20-year-old daughter Gwen.
The “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star has been spending increasing time in New York City, where her new companion’s restaurant operates in the Nolita neighborhood. The pair reportedly move in overlapping social circles.
Reps for Sievers, Newport and Ekenberger did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Newport’s romantic life has been a recurring storyline since she joined the Bravo franchise. She separated from Bradley, her husband, last year after what she has described as a difficult period. Her brief relationship with Good followed, and she has since embraced a more public approach to dating.
The US Open sighting marked her most visible romantic outing to date, drawing immediate fan speculation before Sievers’s identity emerged. The tournament has become a favored venue for celebrity appearances and unexpected pairings in recent years.
Whether Sievers’s marriage can be repaired or his involvement with Newport will deepen remains uncertain amid the dueling narratives from those close to the restaurateur. Ekenberger’s recent social media activity suggests she had not anticipated the public unraveling of her relationship.
