Rob Kardashian has surfaced for a rare family outing.
The 39-year-old joined Kim Kardashian, 46, for her birthday dinner Tuesday at Baldi, the steakhouse inside the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, marking one of his few public appearances in years. He kept the look understated: black bomber jacket over a black collared shirt, black trousers, black sneakers and a black baseball cap. By the end of the night he had stripped down to a simple black Nike T-shirt and a diamond chain.

He was spotted outside the restaurant chatting with Kim and sisters Khloé Kardashian, 42, and Kourtney Kardashian, 47, who had dressed up for the occasion while he stuck to streetwear. Khloé wore a sheer nude-pink bodycon dress with matching stilettos. Kourtney chose a dark purple long-sleeved mini dress with black high heels. Kim started the evening in a shimmery olive-green mini dress with a plunging V-neckline and a jeweled headpiece, later switching to a dark red version of the same look. Their mother Kris Jenner, 70, rounded out the group in a pale yellow floral-embellished coat with feathered accents.

Rob’s retreat from public life began after the first eight seasons of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” which ran for 20 seasons from 2007 to 2021. He has largely stayed off camera since 2016, though he did make a cameo in Season 7 of the family’s Hulu follow-up “The Kardashians,” which premiered in 2022 and is now in its eighth season. Kim teased in the trailer for the current season that “some familiar faces are back.”

He laid out his reasoning during a July 2025 appearance on Khloé’s podcast, “Khloé in Wonder Land.” The conversation turned to why he does not appear on “The Kardashians” with the rest of his family.

“It just has everything to do with myself,” he told his sister.
“I don’t wanna be filming and putting myself in a position where I’m not comfortable,” he continued. “I’m not comfortable in my skin, so why would I want to go be on camera and just be vulnerable and let people in when that’s not what I want to do?”

He added that explanation as a follow-up to his initial point about the decision being personal.

Rob has not vanished entirely. He surfaced in photos Khloé shared from her 42nd birthday party in July, smiling alongside her, Kourtney, Kim, Kris and his 9-year-old daughter Dream, whom he shares with ex Blac Chyna. The Tuesday dinner marks his latest documented appearance at a family milestone.

The original series that made the family household names spanned two decades on E! Before the clan moved to Hulu. Rob was a regular presence in the early years, his storyline often intertwined with his sisters’ and his own personal struggles. His gradual withdrawal coincided with a period of intense public scrutiny around his health, relationships and legal battles with Blac Chyna, though he has rarely addressed those specifics directly.

His sister Kourtney has spoken publicly about his bond with Khloé, describing their connection in terms that drew attention for their unusual framing. The family dynamic remains a draw for the Hulu series even as Rob himself stays at the margins.
The current season of “The Kardashians” is streaming on Hulu.
