Estranged Husband Kidnaps Wife Before Killing Her and Himself, Police Say

Bianca Garza’s boyfriend has spoken out publicly after watching her kidnapped at gunpoint by her estranged husband.

Ezekiel Cain took to Facebook to mourn Garza, 34, the Texas mother of two who was abducted last Thursday morning moments after dropping one of her daughters at school. Cain, who was in the car with Garza when she was taken, had accompanied her to what Burleson Police Chief Billy Cordell described as a planned “civil conversation” with Axel Ramirez, 34, her estranged spouse.

“I will never stop loving you Bibi Ramirez, you were [taken] from this world too soon. In a short time, you showed genuine love and kindness to our little family!” Cain wrote on Facebook.

“In a short time, you showed genuine love and kindness to our little family!” Cain continued. “[I] promised to always love and protect you, I’m so sorry!!! Please know that I loved you dearly and will always look out for our daughters!”

The abduction triggered a frantic dual emergency response. Both Garza and Cain called 911 while Ramirez forced her into his vehicle at gunpoint and fled, according to Cordell. The resulting police chase spanned 34 minutes and 25 miles, with speeds frequently exceeding 100 miles per hour.

The pursuit terminated near Borland Field Airport in Crescent, where authorities discovered both Garza and Ramirez deceased from gunshot wounds inside the vehicle. Police confirmed the deaths as a murder-suicide.

Garza, known to loved ones as “Bibi,” had achieved a milestone just weeks before her death, graduating from nursing school this month. She leaves behind two daughters, ages 9 and 14.

An online fundraiser established in her memory emphasized her devotion to her new profession. “Bibi loved God, music, animals (especially dogs), and, above all, her family,” the page stated. “She had a generous heart, a caring spirit, and a genuine passion for helping people. Nursing wasn’t simply her career. It was her calling.”

Law enforcement officials have not disclosed what drove Ramirez to violence. The couple had separated in August, when he moved out of their shared home, and Cordell noted there had been no prior police calls to the residence. He added that domestic violence frequently goes unreported.

The August separation marked the end of a marriage that would conclude with Ramirez waiting for others to leave before confronting his estranged wife, then ending both their lives after a high-speed flight from police.
