Jamie Lynn Spears is shrugging off her sister Britney’s explosive Instagram post.
An insider exclusively said on Monday that Jamie Lynn, 35, and her husband Jamie Watson “aren’t really concerned about the post,” mostly because it doesn’t ring true for them. The source pushed back directly on one of Britney’s most pointed claims.
“[Britney] held Ivey, and Ivey loves her,” the insider insisted after the Grammy winner alleged her sister “never let [her] hold” the couple’s 8-year-old daughter “one time” during a 2020 pandemic visit to Louisiana.

Britney, 44, unloaded on her family in Sunday’s scathing upload, which she accompanied with a screenshot of Dakota Fanning’s character in the 2003 film “Uptown Girls” flipping the middle finger. The “Toxic” singer twice proclaimed she “will find a new family,” claiming they all participated in “secret things… Behind [her] back.”
“They made [her] feel like a slave,” Britney wrote, noting that “all [she] ever did was work for [her] dad,” Jamie Spears. Her father oversaw the controversial 13-year conservatorship that was completely terminated in November 2021.
The post also targeted ex-husband Kevin Federline, father of her sons Sean Preston Federline, 20, and Jayden James Federline, 19. According to Britney, Kevin “wouldn’t let [her] use the bathroom” in his house whenever she “would pick up [their] children.”

Since the conservatorship ended, Britney has repeatedly called out her family for allegedly working her relentlessly, wrongfully profiting from her success, controlling her and silencing her. Her father and his attorney have vehemently denied abuse allegations, maintaining that all actions as conservator were legal, court-overseen and done in her “best interest.”

Jamie Lynn has repeatedly denied playing any part in the conservatorship, addressing many of Britney’s claims in her 2022 memoir “Things I Should Have Said: Family, Fame and Figuring it Out.” Kevin has also denied intentional wrongdoing through his own memoir, “You Thought You Knew,” and via his attorney.

Reps for Jamie Lynn, Watson, Jamie Spears, Kevin and Britney did not immediately respond to the outlet’s requests for comment.

The sisters’ fractured relationship has played out publicly for years, with Britney periodically lashing out at family members she holds responsible for her prolonged loss of autonomy. Jamie Lynn has generally taken a more reserved public stance, though her memoir attempted to counter several of Britney’s specific accusations.

Britney’s Sunday post represents her latest broadside in an ongoing campaign to reframe her narrative and assign accountability for the constraints she lived under from 2008 to 2021.
