Celine Dion was spotted shredding an air guitar at Metallica’s Las Vegas Sphere residency on Thursday.
The “My Heart Will Go On” singer, 58, watched the metal legends from an upper balcony suite alongside her sons Eddy and Nelson Angélil, whom she shared with late husband René Angélil. She wore a dark blazer with her hair pulled into a sleek updo as she pumped her fists and threw up double “OK” signs to the beat.

Dion’s rocking night out comes just weeks after she wrapped the first leg of her own comeback residency in Paris. That 26-show run began Sept. 12 and concluded Oct. 17, marking her return to full-length live performances after years away from the stage.
“I promised not to cry,” she told the crowd during the inaugural Paris show, according to CBC News. “Tonight I want to sing for you, for me, for life.”

“Finally,” she went on. “It’s amazing we’re all together. I made a promise. I made a promise to come back and be back on stage.”

That promise carried extra weight given her health battles. The Grammy winner announced in December 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stiff person syndrome, a rare and progressive neurological disorder that had sidelined her from performing.
“Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible,” she wrote via Instagram in March 2024.
She added that she wants to send her “encouragement and support to all those around the world that have been affected by SPS.”

“I want you to know you can do it! We can do it!” she concluded the post.

Dion is no stranger to Las Vegas stages herself. The Canadian superstar previously held two residencies at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum between 2003 and 2019, establishing herself as one of the city’s most successful draws.
Her Paris residency will resume with a second leg in May 2027.

Metallica’s fall “Life Burns Faster” Sphere residency kicked off Oct. 1 and concludes this evening. The band has drawn fellow celebrity fans before — Howard Stern was seen enjoying their performance in the Hamptons during a Sirius XM event in September 2025.

The Sphere, a $2.3 billion venue with an immersive 16K LED screen interior, has become the Strip’s most talked-about concert destination since opening in 2023.
Dion’s air guitar moment adds her name to the growing list of stars who have been caught letting loose at Metallica shows in recent years, crossing generational and genre boundaries.

She’ll launch the second leg of her Paris residency in May 2027.
