Beanie Feldstein has broken her silence on becoming a first-time mother months after secretly welcoming a baby girl with wife Bonnie-Chance Roberts.
The “Booksmart” star, 33, revealed the birth in an interview published Wednesday, sharing that she and Roberts, 35, are now raising a daughter whose name they have not yet made public. Feldstein disclosed that she experienced postpartum health complications following the delivery.

“I am learning my strength every day,” Feldstein said. “I feel this new kind of depth of my strength from being a mom that I think is so empowering and beautiful and very new.”
The couple first signaled their pregnancy in May with a joint Instagram post announcing a “Limited Edition Scouse Beanie Baby” was “Coming soon!!” The slideshow included Feldstein cradling her growing belly in a pink dress alongside a ribbon-covered cake. By June, she offered another glimpse of her pregnancy, captioning sidewalk photos: “9 months pregnant chubby girl outfit of the day!!!!!! 💕💕💕”
Feldstein’s path to motherhood came after years of partnership with Roberts, a producer she met in 2018 during the casting process for “How to Build a Girl.” Their introduction happened over Skype before they began dating in person.

Roberts proposed in June 2022, and Feldstein responded with a mutual proposal on the spot. The pair married in New York in May 2023 at a summer camp-themed ceremony that drew celebrity guests including Ben Platt, who performed for their first dance. Speaking to Vogue the next month, Feldstein called the wedding “a truly beautiful, emotional homecoming,” explaining that camp held deep family significance.

“I grew up going to summer camp for 10 years, and my parents and both sets of my grandparents met at summer camp, so camp is a lineage of love through the generations of my family,” she said at the time.
Now navigating early motherhood, Feldstein offered an emotional portrait of bonding with her newborn. She pushed back against common assumptions about infant awareness, noting that she sensed her daughter’s presence immediately.
“I could feel her soul from the moment she was born,” Feldstein said. “I remember people told me newborns are little blobs and they don’t really come alive until 6 weeks. I disagree with that completely. I could feel her soul from the moment I met her, but when you get to see that externalized in the smile, it’s so magic.”

The actress described her daughter in sweeping terms, saying she had fulfilled long-held wishes about family.
“She is genuinely beyond my wildest dreams. I really did dream her,” Feldstein told the outlet. “I always wanted to be a mom, and I always wanted a daughter. I look at her every day, and I’m like, ‘You’re just beyond anything I could have even tried to imagine.'”

She also praised Roberts’s entry into motherhood, emphasizing their shared experience.
“I love getting to watch her take in the world, it’s just the greatest gift, and getting to be a mom alongside my wife is the greatest gift. She’s such a good mom, and it’s so special to watch. Motherhood is unbelievably beautiful,” she added.

Feldstein, the younger sister of Jonah Hill, earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role in 2019’s “Booksmart” and has also appeared in “Lady Bird” and the FX series “What We Do in the Shadows.” Roberts has produced several independent films including the project that brought them together.
The couple has not specified their daughter’s exact birth date or current age.

Feldstein continues to balance her public profile with private family life, having kept the birth under wraps for months before her interview.
