Jayden James has landed his first magazine cover as the new face of MAC Cosmetics’ MACzine.
The 19-year-old son of Britney Spears, 43, appears on the latest digital cover of the beauty brand’s publication, photographed by Sarah Pardini dripping wet and staring directly into the camera. Additional images show him striking playful poses with bottles of MAC’s Fix+ Multitasking Setting Spray. The cover line bluntly asks readers, “Who the f—ck is Jayden James?”
In the accompanying interview, Jayden made clear he is no beauty expert. When asked about his skincare routine, he joked, “My girlfriend does my whole routine for me, so if you wanna ask her about that, I think she’s the better person.” The teen’s candid admission came as part of the MACzine feature celebrating his debut in the beauty space.
MAC Global Creative Director Nicola Formichetti shared in a press release, “We celebrate emerging talent and love following their creative journeys. Jayden’s unique sensibility makes him the perfect MACzine cover star.” The partnership marks Jayden’s first formal collaboration with a beauty brand, though he has been steadily building his presence in fashion over the past year.
Jayden’s runway debut came in June during Paris Fashion Week, where he walked for Vetements alongside his 20-year-old brother, Sean Preston. Asked by MAC about that milestone moment, Jayden recalled his internal monologue walking the catwalk: “Please don’t fall — and just breathe.”
The aspiring model and musician also revealed the unexpected source of his fashion inspiration. “When he went off on TikTok and I saw the edit, I was like ‘Dang, I need to be like that guy,'” Jayden told the mag, crediting Brazilian male model and social media star Francisco Lachowski with sparking his initial interest in the industry.
Earlier this month, Jayden teased the MAC partnership by attending a Los Angeles event for the global beauty brand, signaling his deepening ties to the fashion and beauty worlds.
In the viral moment that first drew widespread attention to Jayden’s emerging career, the teen walked the Vetements runway in Paris alongside his older brother Sean Preston, 20, as both sons of the “Toxic” singer stepped into the public eye through high-fashion channels. The Paris Fashion Week appearance represented a significant shift for the brothers, who had largely grown up away from the spotlight that followed their mother throughout her decades-long pop career.
