Drew Barrymore waves goodbye to bras as she admits she’s ‘over’ wearing them

Drew Barrymore has shared that she’s done with wearing bras, telling viewers that her time with them is officially “over”.

On Tuesday’s episode of her talk show, the actor made the announcement in characteristically open fashion. She unbuttoned her shirt to show a beige leotard underneath, rather than a traditional bra.

“I’m wearing a weird leotard right now,” Barrymore informed her guest, comedian Chris Fleming, “I wear this thing ’cause I don’t wanna wear a bra because I’m over a bra.”

She then continued: “I’m too old, and I won’t wear one.”

As Fleming and the audience laughed along, Barrymore doubled down on her no-bra stance with another blunt remark.

“I don’t care if these sausages fall down to my knees. I just, I’m over it, and I don’t care anymore.”

Fleming seemed fully on board with the sentiment. He unzipped his pants to reveal he’d also committed to the bodysuit approach, wearing a black leotard of his own.

“Drew is over it! That’s great! Mine is that.”

Barrymore appeared delighted to find a matching moment with her guest, and the pair embraced on set.

The Emmy-winning host has long said comfort comes first when she’s getting dressed. She previously spoke about her preference for “granny panties” in 2025, explaining she avoids restrictive fits.

“I’m telling you, I like a big pair of panties,” Barrymore said. “I like everything — I don’t like tight and constricting. I don’t even own a pair of G-strings.”

She’s also acknowledged going commando at times, though she admitted that became trickier once her daughter started “pantsing” her as a prank.

“It’s a joke!” Barrymore said of the behavior. “But yeah, I’m like, ‘Just make sure this is an inside-the-house thing.’”

Barrymore’s willingness to talk honestly about clothing and body image isn’t new. She’s often discussed the personal reasons behind what she feels comfortable wearing.

During an April 6 episode of her show titled “Scared to Wear,” the Charlie’s Angels star became emotional while speaking with a woman named Dawn, who opened up about confidence struggles after weight loss.

“I’ve had two C-Sections, and I’m so wrecked down there,” Barrymore shared, revealing that she’d had a similar moment of insecurity recently.

“I can’t wear a lot of different types of pants, but the other day I was walking around, and I had this shorter shirt on, and I couldn’t keep my jacket closed. And I was walking around like ‘I don’t want anyone to see this.’”

She wrapped up by explaining why Dawn’s experience felt so familiar, noting how bodies can change over time—especially with parenting and a busy life.

“And I so get when you have kids, and you have a busy life, and your body changes and you get older, and things just aren’t the same. I totally get it,” the visibly emotional star concluded.
