Jordyn Woods married Karl-Anthony Towns in a strapless Old Hollywood-inspired gown in Malibu.
Woods, 28, and Towns, 30, tied the knot Saturday in Malibu, California, with the bride channeling vintage glamour in a strapless ballgown featuring a sweetheart neckline, fitted bodice and draped skirt in a shiny silk fabric. For added drama, she draped a lace scarf around her collarbone that hung elegantly off her shoulders and down her back. Woods pulled her hair into a chic bun and fastened it with a long, lace-trimmed veil.
She accessorized with stud earrings, a bracelet and a cascading bouquet of calla lilies. Towns went classic in a black tuxedo with two sparkling brooches. The couple imposed a strict all-black dress code on guests, and A-list attendees followed suit. Kylie Jenner wore a dress with large side cut-outs and a thigh-high slit, while Hailey Bieber chose a sparkling halter silhouette. Jada Pinkett Smith appeared in a sharp column gown with a built-in bow tie, and Teyana Taylor went bold in beads.
Other celebrity guests included Ben Stiller, Gayle King, Keegan-Michael Key, Michael B. Jordan, Leah Kateb and Knicks teammates Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson. At the after-party, guests wore black hoodies emblazoned with “married in 5,” a nod to the Knicks defeating the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals earlier this summer.
Towns proposed to Woods on Dec. 24 after five years of dating. The basketball player designed an engagement ring steeped in meaning, including both of their parents’ birthstones and their own birthstones as symbols of their future joint family. Woods’ father, John, died suddenly from cancer in 2017, while Towns’ mother, Jacqueline, died in 2020 from COVID-19 complications shortly after the pair started dating.
Woods spoke about that shared loss in a 2020 interview with Extra. “Naturally, we both connected about losing a parent at a very young age,” she said, “so it was a very organic relationship that we’d been best friends for a while.” Towns had previously detailed their friendship-to-romance arc on Woods’ Instagram show Regular-ish in 2021. “Me and Jordyn met years ago knowing common people and just became friends,” he said. “And ever since then, our relationship grew where we became more than friends. I’m not saying in that way [romantically], but just best friends. And then we started having a deeper relationship.”
In the viral moment that defined their spring, Woods became a fan-favorite during the Knicks’ championship run for her courtside style and her orange “lucky bag” from her Woods by Jordyn brand. She carried it to every playoff win, and the one game she left it behind, the team lost. “Everyone said the bag was a good luck charm on TikTok,” Woods said in June, “But it wasn’t until I couldn’t bring the bag and that was the only game we lost that people really started believing the hype.” Towns acknowledged the magic on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, saying, “Obviously, she made some magic when she made that Woods by Jordyn bag for sure.” After the Finals victory, the couple posed with the bag on the court as Towns declared, “The bag is undefeated.”
The wedding comes just weeks after Towns admitted he had put all planning on hold during the championship chase. “I need to start planning it. I need to start there,” he said on June 16. “The only thing I’ve been planning this whole time was an NBA championship.”
