Mark Wahlberg has shared the details of his 14-step fitness routine that begins long before sunrise — and it’s the kind of schedule many people would call extreme.
If you’re anything like me, mornings are less about jumping out of bed and more about squeezing in a few extra minutes of sleep before rushing into the day.
And if we’re being honest, some days “exercise” looks more like walking to the store and carrying home snacks.
But for The Family Plan 2 actor, mornings are designed very differently.
The 54-year-old has launched a YouTube series where he teams up with various content creators and puts them through his personal workout routine.
The series is called the 4AM Club Challenge — and it’s clearly not aimed at the casually curious.
Wahlberg has previously followed an even more punishing schedule, once starting his day at 2:30 am. He doesn’t stick to that anymore, and it’s hard to argue with the decision to dial it back.

Discussing his 4 am training sessions, Wahlberg said it’s “not a normal workout,” per Men’s Health.
He described it as “a game” that’s both “intense” and made even more demanding by the early start.
Still, he insists it’s not all misery, explaining that it’s enjoyable because, in his gym, “we train, we laugh, we learn a few things about each other, and we find out who’s really built for it.”
While most people might ease into the morning with coffee and a quick scroll on their phone, Wahlberg starts with an ice bath and a tough workout. The routine can include an assault bike ride, followed by bicep curls, hamstring curls, leg extensions, hip thrusts, crunches, back squats, back extensions, seated calf raises, lying hamstring curls, ab coasters, Bulgarian split squats, TRX sissy squats, and pendulum squats.
“I used to get up. I’d wake up in the morning, and it would take me, I don’t know, about 30 to 40 minutes to start loosening up,” he explained, before stating: “By the time I get in there now. I feel ready to go. I get out of the ice bath, all the soreness, all the aches and pains are gone. You got energy and dopamine that lasts for hours.”
In the first episode, he brought on influencer Brent Rivera and shared that he trains “five days a week,” saving his biggest push for Thursdays, when he focuses on legs.
In the clip, Rivera appeared to struggle to keep pace with the Daddy’s Home actor as the workout progressed.
The series, which launched on March 27, has also featured Druski, The Stokes Twins, Adam W, Jesse James West, and other creators — all there to find out who can actually hang with the father of four.
Spoiler: Not many could.
