The partner of actor Michael Heslin, known for his roles in “Younger,” “The Holiday Proposal Plan,” and “Special Ops: Lioness,” has disclosed that there is no known cause for his sudden death at the age of 30. Scotty Dynamo, who has been Heslin’s husband for eight months, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram on July 5.
Aside from his acting career, Heslin was immensely talented behind the scenes. In 2020, he created, wrote, directed, and starred in the scripted mockumentary series “The Influencers.” He and Dynamo married in November 2023 and often shared their personal life with their online followers, which made Heslin’s sudden passing even more shocking to their community.
Dynamo expressed his profound loss on Instagram, stating, “On July 2nd, my husband, best friend, and soulmate @mikeheslin passed away from an unexpected cardiac event after a week-long battle in the hospital.” He emphasized that Heslin was in “perfect health,” leaving doctors baffled by the sudden event.
In a heartfelt tribute, Dynamo described Heslin as “a real-life guardian angel” who supported him through his battles with cancer. “He truly was the sweetest, most caring, and loving man on earth, and he brought out the absolute best in everyone who had the pleasure to cross paths with him,” he added. Dynamo praised Heslin’s positive impact and expressed that nothing seemed insurmountable with him by their side.
The couple had dreams of starting a family, with Dynamo sharing that they had even begun discussing baby names. “If I ever become a dad, I am going to name my son after you and hope that I manage to raise him to become at least half the man you are,” Dynamo revealed.
Heslin’s last acting appearance was in “Special Ops: Lioness.” (Jon Kopaloff/Getty Images for The Ninth House Vip Screening Of “A Christmas To Treasure”) Even in his passing, Heslin continued to make a difference by being an organ donor, thus providing life to four different families, a decision that brought Dynamo some comfort.
“We are 3 weeks away from your birthday and 4 months shy of our 1 year wedding anniversary, but I know that you are in a better place and that heaven has gained another angel,” Dynamo expressed. He concluded his tribute with a touching quote from Shania Twain: “I’ll love you ‘forever and for always.'”
Friends and fans have poured out their support and condolences, often referring to Heslin as an ‘angel’.
