Daniel Siad, a modelling scout whose name was listed thousands of times in the Epstein files, has been found dead at his home in Paris.
Siad, who was 69, had denied any awareness of Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal activity, although he acknowledged that he had introduced models to him during his career.
The body was found on Monday, July 20, at his property in Colombes, a suburb of the French capital, according to prosecutors.
“An investigation to determine the cause of death was opened on Monday evening following the discovery.”
French prosecutors have previously said the Epstein files had opened up a wider investigation in France into possible human trafficking and financial offences linked to the late US financier. Siad had been identified in those inquiries as one of several men accused of helping Epstein recruit women, and he had not yet been questioned by investigators.
In a recent interview, Siad rejected the allegations against him and said he wanted to clear his name.
An autopsy is expected as part of the investigation.
