Paris Jackson fired back at an Instagram troll who called her extensive tattoos “dirty.”
The singer and model, 28, spotted the remark beneath an E! News Instagram post showing her colorful chakra tattoos peeking out from a white shirt. The commenter wrote, “She is gorgeous, but those tattoos just make her look dirty and takes away from her look.” Jackson answered directly in the thread with a line of mock panic and a winking aside.

Other fans rushed to her defense. One wrote, “your tattoos are cool as hell and you’re gorg as you are ✨” Another told the original commenter, “What a shallow thing to say. Grow up.”
The exchange surfaced just days after Jackson appeared on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, where she discussed meeting her mother, Debbie Rowe, for the first time at age 15. During that same episode, she opened up about her childhood with Michael Jackson, whom she called her “best friend.”
Jackson has accumulated more than 80 tattoo designs over the years. Many pay tribute to her late father, who died in 2009 at age 50. She has inked his “Dangerous” album cover on her forearm, “Queen of my Heart” in his handwriting on her wrist, and the word “Applehead” — his pet name for loved ones — on her foot.
The tattoos carry deeper significance beyond aesthetics. Jackson has spoken openly about her history of addiction and self-harm, describing the ink as marks of healing. She wrote on Instagram in 2016, “I can look at my inner forearms and see art that has meaning… I don’t see a dark past anymore. My scars and past of self-hatred have been covered by loving marks, creativity, ingenuity… And depth,” She added at the time, “Some people like them, some people absolutely hate them. I appreciate art… Especially when that art means something to me.”
Jackson has been sober from alcohol and heroin for more than six years.
Her other tattoos include matching roses with pal Cara Delevingne and a line in Elvish on her neck from J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings,” which translates to “a light from the shadows [shall spring].”
Jackson usually keeps her ink on full display, including during modeling gigs. She covered them up with heavy-duty makeup only once, on the 2024 Grammys red carpet.
In the viral moment that preceded this latest clapback, Jackson has consistently defended her body art against critics. Her 2016 Instagram post about appreciating art that “means something” came when she was just 18, already aware the ink would divide opinion. She has since used her platform to reframe the conversation around her tattoos, emphasizing their role in transforming visible scars of self-harm into what she calls “loving marks” of creativity and depth.
Jackson is a singer-songwriter whose second album, “Happiest Day of My Life,” drops on Aug. 21.
