On Monday, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s eldest children attended their great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s burial together with their parents.
Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince George, 9, were spotted visiting Westminster Abbey in London, England, where the late British monarch’s historic state burial took place. Prince Louis, their 4-year-old sibling, seemed to be missing.
The two kids rode in a vehicle to the state burial on Monday morning with their mother, the new Princess of Wales, and Camilla, the Queen Consort. They had already attended Prince Philip’s funeral the previous year. Charlotte wore an all-black mourning outfit, while George attended the service in a blue suit.
On September 8, when she passed away at 96, George, Charlotte, and Louis took her place as the second, third, and fourth in line to the throne. Their parents now have the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales, which the late Princess Diana and the current King Charles III formerly held.
The children’s father, Prince William, and uncle, Prince Harry, will lead a procession carrying the queen’s coffin to Wellington Arch after the funeral. The queen will be laid to rest when the casket travels to Windsor, England, where it will head to St. George’s Chapel for a Committal Service.
