A self-proclaimed ‘biohacker’ has made an unexpected revelation following the consumption of magic mushrooms.
Bryan Johnson often shares details about his intense lifestyle online, aspiring to extend his lifespan and expressing a desire to ‘live forever’.
The tech mogul adheres to a rigorous daily routine, which includes exposure to various types of light and constant monitoring of his home’s air quality.
In addition to this, he follows a highly restricted diet and takes multiple supplements daily.
Johnson, now 48, asserts that his unique experiment and stringent lifestyle enable him to possess the ‘heart of a 37-year-old’ and the ‘lung capacity of an 18-year-old’.
While he regularly updates his followers on his disciplined habits, Johnson surprised many with a recent unexpected online post.

This came after he experimented with a ‘heroic’ dose of magic mushrooms, documenting his experiences thereafter.
Consuming this hallucinogenic fungus is thought to lead individuals to profound realizations about their lives.
Johnson’s post hinted at such a realization, questioning the necessity of his extensive equipment for maintaining his ‘longevity’ program.
He wrote: “I’m in D.C. for a thing. Packing my longevity for travel is a lot. A pair of underwear and toothbrush would be so much easier.
“Sometimes I think you’re right and this whole thing has gotten out of control and I need to chill.”
This statement suggested Johnson might be reconsidering his lifestyle choices.
Or at least, that seemed to be the case.

In a subsequent post, Johnson clarified that his initial comments were made in jest, reaffirming his dedication to his venture.
He wrote: “I’m playing with this post, making fun of myself for the insane lengths I go to embody this don’t die experiment.”
Referring to his recent psychedelic experience, Johnson added: “Given that people are interested in my mindset post mushrooms and may be unfamiliar with my humor, this post is play and not serious.”
During his monitored mushroom experience, Johnson aimed to document any significant occurrences.
Following his journey, Johnson commented: “Yes, this trip changed me. Probably not as you’d expect.
“People assume I am fearful of death. I’m not. In my darkest days of depression, I reconciled with death.”
