US commander claims Trump was ‘chosen by Jesus to unleash Armageddon on Iran’

As the conflict with Iran continues to intensify in the Middle East, some US commanders have reportedly framed the fighting as something larger than military strategy — calling it part of God’s design.

Iran has faced sustained pressure since the US and Israel began coordinated missile strikes on February 28.

The ongoing attacks reportedly killed Supreme Leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei at his residence in Tehran.

Iran has since responded by launching strikes across the region. One alleged retaliatory attack targeted Kuwait and was said to have killed six American service members.

Other locations reportedly hit include Oman, Bahrain, and Dubai, among others.

Amid the escalation, President Trump suggested the campaign could last longer than originally anticipated, even as concerns grow about the potential long-term economic cost for US taxpayers.

While many observers might attribute the crisis to years of tension surrounding Iran’s alleged nuclear ambitions, a new report claims some military leaders have presented a very different narrative — arguing the war fits within a religious prophecy.

A report claims American troops were allegedly told by commanders that Trump was ‘anointed’ to trigger ‘Armageddon’ through military action against Iran.

Independent journalist Jonathan Larsen wrote on Substack that hundreds of troops have filed complaints with the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF). The report states there have been 110 complaints involving commanders across more than 40 units and 30 military installations.

According to the Mirror US, non-commissioned officers told the MRFF that a combat-unit commander had:

‘urged us to tell our troops that this was “all part of God’s divine plan” and he specifically referenced numerous citations out of the Book of Revelation referring to Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ’.

The same commander allegedly insisted that Trump was:

‘anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth’.

The NCO’s letter also reportedly accused the commander of undermining the unit, alleging the remarks:

‘destroy morale and unit cohesion and are in violation of the oaths we swore to support the [C]onstitution.;

MRFF President Mikey Weinstein told Larsen his office has been flooded with similar claims, saying:

“These calls have one damn thing in freaking common; our MRFF clients [service members who seek MRFF aid] report the unrestricted euphoria of their commanders and command chains as to how this new ‘biblically-sanctioned’ war is clearly the undeniable sign of the expeditious approach of the fundamentalist Christian ‘End Times’ as vividly described in the New Testament Book of Revelation.”

He added:

“Many of their commanders are especially delighted with how graphic this battle will be zeroing in on how bloody all of this must become in order to fulfill and be in 100% accordance with fundamentalist Christian end of the world eschatology.”
