Erika Kirk is set to step into the position previously held by her late husband, Charlie Kirk, who also served on the board.
Erika Kirk has continued to assume responsibilities that her husband, Charlie Kirk, carried out before he was shot and killed in September last year.
Kirk, who married the right-wing podcaster in 2021 and shares two children with him, released a statement explaining that she would be stepping into his role at Turning Point USA.
At the time, the organization said she would take on the responsibilities of CEO and Chair of the Board.
Now, Donald Trump has tapped Erika Kirk to take over her husband’s seat on the Air Force Academy Board of Visitors.

As outlined on the Board’s website, it ‘inquires into the morale, discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs, academic methods and other matters relating to the Academy which the Board decides to consider.
White House spokesperson Olivia Wales described Erika Kirk as the ‘perfect choice’ for the role.
She added: “Charlie Kirk served proudly on the Board, inspiring not only the next generation of servicemembers, but millions around the world with his bold Christian faith, defense of the truth, and deep love of country.
“Erika Kirk will continue his legacy, and be a fearless advocate for the most elite airpower force in the history of the world whose warriors keep our Nation safe, strong, and free.”
The website also details how the rest of the panel is appointed.

It reads: “The Board consists of six members appointed by the President, two designated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, one designated by the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, one each designated by the Chair and Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, two designated by the Majority Leader of the Senate, two designated by the Minority Leader of the Senate, and one each designated by the Chair and Ranking Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.”
The updated listing states the president also selected Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), Dan Clark, Doug Nikolai and Dina Powell, alongside Kirk, while one position remains unfilled.
Charlie Kirk attended only one Board of Visitors meeting before his death. During his time on the board, he pushed for faster renovations to the academy chapel, according to meeting minutes viewed by Stars and Stripes.
