Aaron Rodgers is firing back at ex-girlfriends who dubbed him a “monster” partner.
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, 42, unleashed a broadside against former flames including Danica Patrick and Shailene Woodley across two podcast appearances in 2026, while continuing to shield his new wife, Brittani, from public scrutiny. Rodgers married Brittani in 2025 after reconnecting with her following engagements they both entered into with other people.
Rodgers’ harshest words landed on Patrick, the former racing driver, 43, during an August 2026 episode of the “Pat McAfee Show.” He painted their final months together as bleak, claiming she was “depressed and not fun to be around” and that their romance had lost “intimacy” and was going “in a certain direction.” He disputed her assertion that he “finalized” her, offering a detailed account of their Malibu house purchase as the true breaking point.
“Then, I’m buying a house in Malibu, and she goes, ‘Well, would you want to buy it together?’ And I say, ‘No.’ She said, ‘You know what that means then?’ I said, ‘Yeah, that’s the way things are going,'” he recounted.
Rodgers went on to generally blast “horse s–t” claims by his exes that dubbed him a “monster” partner.
Patrick had leveled her own allegations months earlier, during a May 2025 appearance on the “Shay Steele Show.” She accused her ex of being “emotionally abusive” and wearing her “down to nothing.”
“People could never imagine that I would lack … any confidence or belief in the simple things about who I am. Everything was torn to bits,” she claimed. “He leaves a trail of blood.”
The pair had been together from early 2018 until summer 2020, documenting vacations and date nights before purchasing a $28 million Malibu estate together in 2019.
Woodley, 33, also drew Rodgers’ ire on the “Not Just Football” podcast six months after his McAfee appearance. He demanded she “move on with [her] life” and stop mentioning him in interviews, rejecting her narrative that he ruined her life and caused depression.
“Her story is that I ruined her life and gave her crazy depression because I left her,” he said. “What are we talking about regarding me ruining your life?”
He alleged Woodley requested to “f–k [another] guy” days after accepting his proposal, and claimed their relationship had effectively ended before 2022. “We had a couple of times where we tried to get reunited and nothing ever happened. There wasn’t even a relationship in 2022 to break off. She literally told me, ‘I don’t want to be with you,'” he insisted.
Woodley had previously hinted at her perspective to Bustle in 2024, saying, “It’s really taken me a lot of time to understand that it’s not on me to fix or heal or do anything about [a relationship] other than protect the deep care and love that I have.”
The “Big Little Lies” star and Rodgers became engaged in February 2021, days after reports surfaced of their romance, with Aaron announcing the news during the NFL Honors ceremony. They called off the wedding almost exactly one year later.
Before Patrick and Woodley, Rodgers spent nearly three years with actress Olivia Munn, 44, from spring 2014 to 2017. Munn spoke openly about their romance, including game-day intimacy habits, and later addressed the quarterback’s strained family ties. In a 2018 SiriusXM “Radio Andy” interview, she clarified her limited role in the Rodgers family rift.
“I was friendly with Jordan [Rodgers], and I met the parents only a couple of times,” Munn said. “Before he and I started dating, he hadn’t spoken to the parents and one brother for like eight months.”
She also pushed back against blame for his on-field struggles, noting on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast in 2025 that during their time together, “He had three hail marys, I think two NFC championships — not wins — but he made it into the NFC Championship, which is very hard. No one would want to talk about that. I didn’t get credit for any of the wins.”
Munn hinted at deeper troubles in a 2019 Forbes interview, recalling feeling “so empty” by the end of their relationship. She said her partner at the time — whom she did not name but whose career milestones matched Rodgers’ — “[He] want[ed] me to just always be there to cater to every need of his.”
Rodgers’ romantic history also includes two stints with “Gossip Girl” actress Jessica Szohr in 2011 and early 2014, and a brief golf outing with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Kelly Rohrbach at Westchester Golf Course in Los Angeles in spring 2017 that sparked rumors the pair never addressed.
Throughout the turmoil with former partners, Rodgers has maintained tight control over details of his current marriage. He revealed on the “Pat McAfee Show” in December 2024 that he was in a new relationship without naming Brittani. By May 2025 he was wearing a wedding ring, confirming the following month that they had wed.
He gushed over his “incredible wife” during a July 2025 interview, saying, “When you meet the right one and you’re with the right one, your whole world changes in a second. And to have that person that unconditionally loves you behind the scenes, there’s no better feeling in the world.”
On “Not Just Football,” Rodgers disclosed that he and Brittani actually dated in 2017 before she left for Europe, causing their initial split. Both moved on to other engagements — hers first, then his to Woodley — before finding their way back.
“She [got] engaged, then I got engaged, and luckily, for me, we came back together,” he recalled. He also noted that Brittani has a sister named Mia married to rapper Mike, a friend of his.
Rodgers is set to continue his Steelers tenure as the 2026 NFL season progresses.
